The Penn Ridge Kennel Club is a non-profit organization that promotes purebred dog activities and supports dog related charities.

Our main activities are our two All Breed AKC shows for conformation with Junior Showmanship classes, an Obedience Trial and Rally trial held the second weekend in August (see Our Shows for more information, or go to Jim Rau Dog Shows for a premium list), our participation in the Canine Learning Experience each January. We also hold Match shows (see Septemberfest) and have sponsored vaccination and health clinics at some of our events. We have sponsored educational presentations at our meetings and have participated in the AKC Good Citizen program.

Beginning in 2008, the Penn Ridge Kennel Club helps sponsor the "Farm to Fun - Dogs Do It All" program for the PA Farm Show in January. (See "Farm Show" under Community Activities for more information). We are proud to have begun this program which is now an annual event at the Farm Show

The Penn Ridge Kennel Club has also sponsored student art contests to promote awareness of the responsibility of owning a dog as well as recognize artistic talent in the youth of the Penn Ridge area.

The Penn Ridge Kennelc Club contributes each year to the AKC George Ward Scholarship Fund to help the youth who are the future of our sport. In 2010 we will also be offering a grant to a qualifying youngster to help with the expenses of attending the Westminster Kennel Club Show in New York City as a Junior Showmanship Exhibitor. Another annual recipient of proceeds from our events is Take the Lead, an organization which helps chronically and terminally ill people in our sport.
