Our new indoor air conditioned site was extremely well received by the fancy. The Farm Show Complex offers plenty of parking, is easily accessible for those coming from a distance to our shows, and affords exhibitors, vendors and spectators the opportunity to enjoy the events of the weekend without concern for heat or rain. Our August shows draw over 100 different AKC breeds, and the Obedience and Rally Competition are big hits with the exhibitors.
The shows also feature many vendors who bring a wide variety of unusual merchandise for dogs and dog lovers. For the premium list, to enter our shows, or sign up as a vendor please contact Jim Rau Dog Shows. Admission to our shows is $6.00 for anyone over 12; children under 12 accompanied by an adult are admitted free. Please print and bring the coupon below for a $1.00 discount on your admission:

Junior ShowmanshipThe Penn Ridge Kennel Club support AKC Junior Showmanship activities as a way to encourage young people in our sport, realizing that today's Juniors will go on to become tomorrow's successful breeders, exhibitors, judges and club members who will take over as guardians of the AKC purebred dogs that we love. Handlers of TomorrowIn addition to supporting our Juniors Classes with great prizes, including all day passes to HERSHEYPARK, Savings Bonds, Vendor Bucks and sponsor prizes, Penn Ridge Kennel Cub is also proud to present, with other Sponsors the AKC, Oster, and Royal Canin, an AKC Registered Handlers “Handlers of Tomorrow” Juniors Clinic where our professional handlers and AKC Executive Field Representatives donate their time and expertise to help our Juniors better their handling skills. At the Handlers of Tomorrow Clinic the Penn Ridge Kennel Club also sponsors a raffle with great prizes, this year to include a 15” Flat Screen Color TV, HERSHEYPARK tickets, as well as lunch provided for the participants of the clinic. The 2009 Handlers of Tomorrow clinic will be held on Friday, August 7. There is no fee to attend this clinic and much to learn from working with the experts. Juniors do not need to be entered in the show to attend the clinic. Registration will be at the show on August 7. HERSHEYPARK 2009Dog shows are a family sport, and HERSHEYPARK and Dutch Wonderland are family fun places to visit. HERSHEYPARK is located in Hershey, Pa, about a half hour from our show site, and Dutch Wonderland is located in Lancaster, Pa. We are proud to offer All Day Passes to HERSHEYPARK as part
of our Junior Showmanship and Handlers of Tomorrow prizes. Monte Carlo Night to Benefit Take the LeadTake the Lead is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide assistance to those terminally and chronically ill people in the fancy who need some help and is funded 100% from donations made by individuals and groups. Each year there are several benefit dinners in various parts of the country to raise funds for this most worthwhile cause close to allof us in the sport of purebred dogs. For more information about the organization, go to www.takethelead.org Because of the support our shows have been able to provide to Take the Lead in the past few years, we were asked to host an evening event to benefit the organization. Since we work hard to make the Keystone Cluster a fun weekend for all who support us, it was decided that we wanted the evening event to be fun for all as well, and the idea of the Monte Carlo night was born. For your donation/admission to the Monte Carlo night, each participant will receive their buffet dinner, some "funny money" for the games, and ticket(s) toward the evening's array of prizes, all of which have been donated to help Take the Lead. The gaming tables will be open for a limited time; if one loses their "funny money", more can be purchased until cut off time. At the end of the gaming period, "funny money" will be exchanged for more prize tickets. All of the prizes that have been donated will then be raffled. The list of prizes is most impressive and still growing; there's sure to be something you would like to win! It was our goal to level the playing field in order to make the night more fun for all... With the Monte Carlo night, everyone will have a chance at the prize(s) they most want to win; each ticket stands an equal chance f being drawn. The Monte Carlo event is a wonderful way for you to help support Take the Lead while enjoying fun with your friends. The event will be over in time for everyone to attend to their dogs; if necessary the building will remain open an hour later than usual to allow for handlers, assistants and owners to do their nighttime chores with their dogs. We wish to thank each of our co-sponsors for their generosity in helping to make the Monte Carlo Take the Lead Event a reality, and we look forward to a great evening. Life's a gamble... take a chance at our Monte Carlo event and help Take the Lead! For more information, contact the Show Chairman or www.takethelead.org
